Production Facilities
Nucor Steel Tuscaloosa produces a wide range of carbon, HSLA and pressure vessel steels in coil, cut to length and discrete plate utilizing state-of-the-art Steckel mill technology. As the first U.S. steel mill to implement Steckel technology, Nucor Steel Tuscaloosa, Inc. was the first to put the advantages of this efficient, cost effective technology to work for industry. The recent production facilities expansion and modernization program undertaken by Nucor Steel Tuscaloosa, Inc are now complete. The overall project, representing an investment in excess of $250 million, increased annual capacity by 300,000 tons and enabled Nucor Steel Tuscaloosa, Inc. to provide an expanded line of products exhibiting superior quality and dimensional accuracy.
